We are living in what has been coined, “The Learning Era.” We have a global economy that is driven by knowledge and learning. In the past, it was called “The Knowledge Era,” and also “The Information Era.” So why the change?
You can have the smartest technology, e.g., AI with all its glory – and it is glorious — but that technology is only as valuable as your ability to use it. And that ability will always be dependent on what you have learned. You can have the best and most up-to-date data that provides everything you need about trends and outcomes. That data, however, will need to be analyzed correctly in order to maximize its value in a way that achieves your desired outcome. That once again will depend on the skill of the analyst, and what that analyst has learned.
Most successes in our workplaces today will be dependent on what we are willing to learn. It is not the same as the knowledge and information we have merely acquired. It will be the degree to which we have learned to use the knowledge and information we have acquired.
